The Lake
About three acres in area, our lake is fed by the Gibbs Brook. Pure spring water from the surrounding hills, emerges at several points under the lake's surface. These springs ensure a plentiful supply of naturally filtered, cold water in which our fish thrive.
Casting is from 14 well-positioned platforms or spaces on the bank. All are named from chalk streams in southern England. Most have rustic seats and level access and there is space to back cast. All areas of the lake can be cast to with either left or right handedness favouring some positions. Two shelters and a floating lodge are sited around the lake.
There's also a cottage with full kitchen facilities, flushing WC and shower. Here you can rest, freshen-up, warm yourself and prepare snacks or hot meals to be eaten under cover. For fine weather there's a full-size gas BBQ and garden furniture for use on the lawn. If service is preferred there are five pubs and a cafe to choose from, a short drive away.
Parking at Leigh Mill is not a problem. A secure, off-road, car parking area is set aside for the exclusive use of Members.
A bailiff lives on site and cares for the lake and the surrounding environment. Wireless infra-red CCTV is in place and police keep an eye out for trespassers. Poachers are very unwelcome. Those apprehended have tackle confiscated and a day in court.
